The world of podcasts is becoming increasingly more popular. People are switching off their music library, turning off their radio, closing their books and now sticking on a podcast to fill their time. But why is this? A significant reason for their growth in popularity is that a podcasts format can uniquely fit into all of our busy lives. There is a podcast for every topic, from lifestyle, to news, to science, to tech, and the list goes on, therefore there is a podcast for everyone. Podcasts all range in length, so if you only have a spare 10 minutes, or an hour-long commute, you can be sure to find a podcast that suits your needs. Being a company that works within information technology and services industry, here at Pogo Studio we thought it would be a great idea to share the best technology related podcasts that will allow you to learn a bit more about the industry we work within.

Clockwise is a rapid-fire discussion of current technology issues, hosted by Dan Moren and Mikah Sargent and featuring two guests every week. This podcast really sticks to its name and formula.Theround-table discussion with the four weekly hosts is always under 30 minutes and always features four topics; ranging from programming, to online advertising, to windows 10, and so on. The weekly Clockwise episode is great because you know that all the latest events will be covered, all within the short time frame.

Note to Self

Hosted by Manoush Zomorodi, this podcast is all about manoeuvring your life in the digital age. Note to Self is all about looking at tech from the human perspective; how is it affecting our health, leisure, work, and how do we get the most out of it without falling into the tech traps? It discusses that technology should be making us smarter, more productive and simply happier, but also acknowledges that this is not the case a lot of the time. Previous episodes have discussed topics such as internet surveillance and digital privacy. With all episodes from 20-30 minutes, it is a great podcast to fit around all your daily plans.

Accidental Tech Podcast

This is a podcast perfect for all the diehard tech fans out there, or those who are looking to greatly expand their knowledge. Accidental Tech Podcast has three hosts, who are all tech developers, so they really know their stuff, and following each episode listeners can feel as though they have gained information from the best of the best in the industry. The show ranges from detailed explanations of the latest tech products, to industry news, to in depth discussions of programming languages. All episodes tend to be in and around 2 hours, therefore it is a great podcast to split up and listen to around your plans – and with over 400 episodes published so far, you will be kept busy listening to everything tech for a very long time.

Technology: NPR

Produced by National Public Radio, this technology podcast delivers short snippets of tech news and commentaries almost every day. This podcast is super brief, up-to-date and tech-centred with a business edge, and with each episode being from 3-10 minutes, it is the perfect way to get your daily piece of tech information. Previous episodes have discussed double standards for leadership in tech and internet security.

This Week in Tech

This technology podcast has been running for over 10 years now. Host, Leo Laporte and his many guests have a panel discussion related to the latest developments in the tech world. They make sure to always cover the major news headlines, but the discussion format allows for much spontaneity so you will definitely get your share of friendly banter, alongside all your tech news.
