Reflecting on the past 2 years of Pogo Studio

06 September 2018 | Jack Fisher

As we enter our third year as a company we’re growing faster than ever, but we’ve just about got enough time to pause for reflection. Let’s look back at the past two years and the journey we have been on to get to where we are today.

As we enter our third year as a company we’re growing faster than ever, but we’ve just about got enough time to pause for reflection. Let’s look back at the past two years and the journey we have been on to get to where we are today.

Humble beginnings

Before Pogo Studio, there was one man and a dream to create the next big social media platform. Our Managing Director, Jack Francis, had taken his social media idea – Bounce It – from an idea in his head to a fully-fledged mobile application. He didn’t do it without help, our Technical Director and Creative Director came along for the ride part-time. Soon he had 3 full-time team members working with him on the project. Unfortunately, not all dreams come true, and Jack soon realised that Bounce It was not going to be the next social media giant. But he wasn’t going to let this setback get in the way of his dream of owning a business. Realising the talent that the team had, Jack and the team soon pivoted their efforts to focus on app and web development – Pogo Studio was born.

The early days of Pogo Studio

The agency world is a tough market to break into, and things were no different for Pogo Studio. In our early days we fought hard to win clients and build a portfolio that showed our talents. It very quickly became clear that we had a winning team, our Managing Director used his excellent networking talents to bring projects through the door, and our talented design and development team impressed them all with the projects we delivered. Our very first project was for a recruitment agency who needed a website redesign, you can see the finished website here. We’re pleased to say that SoulTek were thrilled with their new website and we have remained close friends with them since finishing the project.

Where are we now?

2018 has been a fantastic year for growth at Pogo Studio. We’re now a team of 6 full-time staff and 3 part-time. We’ve learned to perfect our work process and are delivery many successful projects for a range of happy clients. Something we are really proud of at Pogo Studio is the culture we have created within the team; every member of the team feels welcome and we ensure that everyone has input on the direction of the company. We’re currently looking to add some additional members to the development team, and we’ve got our eyes on some new office space that will allow us to fulfil our growth ambitions. Of course, we wouldn’t be where we are today without help from a whole range of people, and we are very thankful for that. We’d like to especially thank The Royal Bank Entrepreneur Accelerator for all their help over the years, including providing us with an office space that has enable our rapid growth!

The future for Pogo Studio

Who knows what’s in store for the future? We have no plans to stop growing and we can only hope that our success continues as we move forward with the company. We believe that our journey so far is just the beginning and we can’t wait to see what is in store for us next. If you’d like to join us on our journey, as a team member or a client, please don’t hesitate to get in touch – info@pogo-studio.com.
